Are you an LGBTQ+ artist or an ally with a story to tell through your art? We invite you to create artwork to show at the Gather Conference 2025 Art Show on June 27-28 2025 in Provo, Utah.
Theme:“Nevertheless I Went Forth…” is a call to courage, faith, and action during moments of uncertainty. This year’s theme explores the interplay of darkness and light—the courage to step forward despite fear or doubt, trusting that clarity, hope, and strength will emerge. We encourage artists to reflect on what “going forth” looks like for LGBTQIA+ individuals of faith and their allies. What is your nevertheless moment? How have you faced the vulnerability of plunging into the unknown, and how has it transformed you?
Media: We welcome all creative mediums that align with the theme including but not limited to submissions in painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, assemblage, photography, etc…
Show Details: This will be a juried show. Artists whose work is accepted will be notified by May 16, 2025.
Submission Deadlines:
Initial Application: Fill out our intent to create form to let us know that you are going to create work to submit to be juried into the show. Deadline: February 21, 2025
Final Submission: Photos and details of your completed work are due by May 16, 2025 (11:59 pm). Artists will be notified what work makes it into the show on May 23, 2025.
Timelines:
2/21 fill out the online form to let us know you are creating work for the show. (anyone can still fill out this form up until the final submission deadline of 5/16.
2/21-5/16 create your artwork! (pour all of your creativity and narrative of your own experiences as an LGBTQIA+ individual or ally into your work!)
5/16 final submissions due digitally (online) by midnight.
5/23 list of accepted work will be sent out. All artists whos work is accepted into the show are invited to create prints/reproductions of their work to sell at the show (there will be a 25% commission withheld by the Lift and Love organization to help cover costs of the show so price your original work and reproductions accordingly. We will send out a submission form for you to let us know what reproductions you will bring to the show including sizes, numbers of reproductions, prices etc…)
6/2 deadline to fill out reproduction submission forms (we will assign product numbers for you to include on all originals and reproductions).
6/9 send out product codes to artists
6/277:00am bring your artwork and reproductions to the Utah Valley Conference Center for set up. It’s important that all items arrive at 7:00am that morning because we will only a short window of time to set up the show before the Gather Conference starts.
6/27-28 we will have time for artists to come and stand with their artwork so that they can share their work and stories with patrons. Times will be announced once we know the Conference Schedule so we can time it well with the activities of the Conference.
6/285:00pm pick up artwork/reproductions that haven’t sold. We will not have room to store artwork so please make arrangements for all of your artwork to be picked up at 5:00pm on the 28th.
We will send out the link to the final Call for Entry artwork submission form to you a few weeks before the due date.
