Terri talks about Gather volunteer opportunities for LGBTQ young adults

about gather conference

  • Gather Conference is created for LGBTQ+ adults & youth and those who love them (including parents, spouses, partners, relatives, friends, church leaders, and allies). While organizers and attendees are primarily members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, church activity is not a requirement (see “What if I’m not active…?” question below).

Starting in 2024, we offer a special youth program for teens (turning 14-18 in 2024). Register for adults and youth here

  • Love. Support. Acceptance. Positivity. Hope. Faith-affirming, while respecting that everyone is on their own faith journey and individual path. Identity-affirming- recognizing that each person is a child of God with a unique personality and identity. The main focus of everything we do will be Jesus Christ.

  • Anyone who wants to be associated with the gospel of Jesus Christ in any way, shape, or form is welcome (including those who aren’t active in the Church). Active members, not-so-active members, members who have questions, completely inactive members, people who have stepped away or are taking a break from the Church, people who grew up in the Church but are no longer participating, Latter-day Saint adjacent friends… you are all welcome at Gather. Everyone of any orientation or identity, whatever your path - if you want to Gather, come as you are. You will be appreciated and respected, just as you are.

  • Gather Conference is the largest-ever Christ-centered Conference of LGBTQ+ Latter-day Saints and their friends, relatives, and leaders. Over 1,300 people attended in 2023 and we are anticipating even more people this year! We are faith-affirming and identity-affirming, respectful of personal revelation, & supportive of all paths. See “Who is Gather For?” and “What is the Message/Vibe of Gather Conference?” sections above for more information.

  • Yes! This year we area introducing a youth program (ages 14-18) that will take place during Gather Conference 2024. Click here for more information

  • Check out the Gather Conference page for current list of announced presenters. Information about additional speakers and artists will be added to the Gather Conference website as soon as we are able to announce them. We have a FULL schedule of incredible presenters and musicians planned for both the adult and youth programs! CLICK HERE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT GATHER CONFERENCE 2024

  • This year we are introducing a new program for Gather Conference - any first-time Gather Conference attendee can request to have a Gather Guide assigned to them at the Conference. Gather Guides are volunteers who have attended previous Gather Conference(s), and are available to help you find your way.

This is a great option for anyone who is new to Gather Conference and is:

-feeling uncomfortable about attending Gather Conference without a friend or relative

-nervous about attending a large conference for the first time

-hoping to find a friendly face to help them feel at ease at the Conference

If you'd like to request a Gather Guide for yourself, find the request form here

If you've previously attended Gather Conference and would like to volunteer as a Gather Guide, find the application form here
