CO-HOST- ADULT GENDER IDENTITY SUPPORT GROUP / GATHER TEAM MEMBER

Hello to my family and friends. I am happy to be a part of the Adult Gender Identity Support Group and so happy to finally say my name is Bree Borrowman (she, her, hers). I was born on Christmas Day in 1957 and knew at a young age that I experienced gender incongruence. I have lived with my incongruence and gender dysphoria for about fifty years and just a short three years ago came face to face with that reality. I grew up an active member of the LDS church, served a mission to northern England, and currently strive to stay active. I am very close to the most amazing person I know, my spouse Kit, who has been with me for forty two years and helped me understand true unconditional love. We have four children, the oldest one deceased, and eleven grandchildren, of which we rarely see. I have a graduate degree in geophysics and currently work as a science teacher, actually conducting field research and lab work in my spare time.

Keeping my mind and myself just as busy as possible over the years was a big coping skill for me and this led to a hobby of building houses. Eight houses in all and every thing from foundations to the kitchen sink. I'm a competitive road cyclist riding thousands of miles a year, I love all different types of food and think dark chocolate is a basic food group, I love the mountains and especially the ocean. I enjoy quite moments, being out in public, shopping, and haute couture. Kit and I have found a deep appreciation and love for the LGBTQ+ community and recognize the huge spectrum of those that experiences gender incongruence, there's always room at our table. I have finally learned to love myself.
